Resolution Authorizing Road Improvement Charge for 3175 Glazier Way ($38,129.91)
Memorandum
Your approval is requested to levy road improvement charges of $38,129.91 on the property known as 3175 Glazier Way. In order to receive City utility services, the owner requested annexation from Ann Arbor Township, which was completed on December 27, 2007, as notified by the State of Michigan. The property has paid the applicable connection and utility improvement charges, and is “active” for sanitary sewer and water service as of July 6, 2005. Glazier Way was improved as part of the 2000 Glazier Way Road Improvement Project that included pavement, curb & gutter, streetlights, sidewalks, water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.
The property owner needs to now pay the property’s share of the existing improvement charge through the City improvement charge levy as required under section 1:278, Chapter 12, of the Ann Arbor Code. The $38,129.91 Improvement Charge is to be levied and then made payable in 15 annual installments at 7.0% interest per annum on the unpaid balance.
It is therefore recommended that Council levy the improvement charge according to the terms described above.
