Memorandum
The 15th Judicial District Court has been notified by the U.S. Department of Justice that the Court has been awarded a two-year, $400,000.00 supplement to the Court’s existing domestic violence prevention grant to enhance County-wide efforts to prevent domestic violence. The original grant was accepted and appropriation was approved by Council on September 6, 2005 (R-487-9-05).

Under the terms of the grant supplement, the 15th Judicial District Court is the lead administrative grant agency. $300,000.00 will reimburse the City for the salary and fringe benefits for one Domestic Violence Probation Agent, one Pre-Trial/Systems Coordinator and two Domestic Violence Safety Enhancement Officers. $81,000.00 will reimburse the City for domestic violence prevention services provided by contract with SafeHouse Center. $16,200.00 will reimburse the City for training expenses mandated by the Department of Justice.

The term of the supplementary grant is January 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009, unless extended by the Department of Justice.
