Motor Meals Awareness Month

WHEREAS, Motor Meals' purpose is to reduce hunger and food insecurity and promote the dignity and independence of those they serve; and
WHEREAS, Motor Meals is a non-profit community service program of the University of Michigan Health System; and
WHEREAS, Motor Meals uses volunteers to deliver two meals a day, six days a week, to the homebound in the Ann Arbor area; and
WHEREAS, The City of Ann Arbor has provided and continues to provide partial funding and volunteer support for this program; and
WHEREAS, Motor Meals is celebrating the month of November as Motor Meals Awareness Month; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ann Arbor commends Motor Meals' Advisory Board, staff and volunteers for its contributions to the health and well-being of Ann Arbor's homebound residents.
NOW THEREFORE, I, John Hieftje, Mayor of Ann Arbor, Michigan, do hereby proclaim the month of November as Motor Meals Awareness Month in the City of Ann Arbor.
