Annual Survey of Traffic Calming Projects Constructed in 2006
Memorandum
It has been a year since the King George Boulevard and Creek Drive traffic calming projects have been completed. After the review of the post construction traffic analysis and the feedback from the affected residents, we have concluded that the 2006 Traffic Calming program has been successful in both objectives of reducing the speeds on the respective residential streets, and in receiving the public’s approval.

The King George Boulevard Traffic Calming project, between Eisenhower Boulevard and Packard Road, included 5 speed humps and two raised intersections. The Creek Drive Traffic Calming project, the residential portion south of Packard Road to Redwood Avenue, included two speed humps and one raised intersection.

Creek Drive

In addition to the speed study above, we surveyed the residents in the projects’ area to learn about the residents’ level of satisfaction with the traffic calming improvements. The survey post cards asked if the residents were satisfied with the traffic calming devices installed on their street, and provided additional space for more comments.

The survey cards were mailed to the residents on King George Boulevard (50) and Creek Drive (13). The following table summarizes the survey results.
