Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to authorize a purchase order to
American Sprinkler for the renovation of the irrigation system for the Fuller Park athletic fields.
The irrigation system at Fuller Park has sprinkler heads, controllers, valves, and motors that have failed. Each year the irrigation system is taken out of service to make repairs to the system. When this happens, the athletic fields are not watered. The resolution will authorize American Sprinkler to perform the renovation to the underground irrigation system for the Fuller Park athletic fields.
City staff prepared and solicited bids for the renovation of a working underground irrigation system for Fuller Park. Five companies returned bids. American Sprinkler was the lowest responsible bidder at $57,637.00. Action Property Service was the lowest bidder, but references could not be substantiated.
American Sprinkler received Living Wage and Contract Compliance approval on September 27, 2007.
Funds are available in the Public Services Area, Field Operations Unit, Park Operations FY 08, Park Maintenance and Capital Improvement Millage Fund operating budget.
