Resolution to Appoint Karie Slavik to the Environmental Commission

Katherine Hollins will be leaving the Environmental Commission in April. Her appointment ends May 30, 2017 By nominating Ms Slavik now, the Commission will not be short of members.

Whereas, The ordinance creating the Environmental Commission requires the City Councilmembers currently serving on the Environmental Commission to nominate citizen appointments to the Commission;
Whereas, The ordinance requires City Council to confirm citizen appointments to the Commission;
Whereas, Katherine Hollins has informed the Commission that she must resign her appointment before its end date;
Whereas, Karie Slavik has applied to on the Environmental Commission, and
Whereas, Ms Slavik's experience with water-borne pollutants and land-use practices will provide a significant technical expertise to the Commission; and
Whereas, Karie Slavik has been nominated by Councilmembers Briere and Smith;
RESOLVED, That the nomination of Karie Slavik to the Environmental Commission is confirmed and Ms Slavik is appointed to the Environmental Commission to serve out the term of Katherine Hollins; and
RESOLVED, That the City Clerk notify Ms Slavik of her appointment.
