Resolution to Approve Street Closings for FestiFools Parade - Sunday, April 3, 2016
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the FestiFools Parade on Sunday, April 3, 2016. The event will begin at 4:00 P.M with setup beginning at 3:00 P.M. and the streets to be reopened by 6:00 P.M.
The FestiFools event will require closing of the following streets from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on April 3, 2016:
? S. Main Street from William Street to Washington Street
? Liberty Street from South Ashley Street to South Fourth Avenue
The sponsors, WonderFool Productions and the UM Alice Lloyd Scholars Program, agree to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's and Festifool/Fool Moon websites, and emails sent through the Main Street Area Association. Flyers will also be hand delivered to adjacent businesses one week before the event.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
