Resolution to Approve Temporary Use and Occupancy Agreement for a Construction Staging Area at 400 E. Stadium Boulevard ($84,100.00)
Memorandum
In order to facilitate the construction of the Stadium Boulevard Reconstruction Project it is necessary to occupy the triangular parking lot that is part of the parcel of land located at 400 E. Stadium Boulevard. The use of this parcel will allow the Contractor to occupy the parking lot and use it as a construction staging area. The agreement allows the City and its contractor to occupy the parcel for two construction seasons beginning on April 1, 2016 through September 2, 2016 and April 1, 2017 through September 1, 2017. To minimize disruptions, the contractor will vacate the triangular parking lot during the University of Michigan home football and basketball seasons. The payment for this agreement will be made in two equal installments of $42,050.00 prior to April 1st of each year of the agreement.
City staff have negotiated terms of this Temporary Use and Occupancy Agreement with the property owner, the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club. The agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney's Office. Funding for this agreement is available in the approved Public Services Area's Capital Budgets.
