Resolution Recognizing Stone School Cooperative Nursery as a Civic Nonprofit Organization Operating in Ann Arbor for the Purpose of Obtaining a Charitable Gaming License
Memorandum
To obtain a charitable gaming license under Michigan law, a nonprofit organization is required to submit a resolution from its local governing body recognizing it as a community-based organization.

Stone School Cooperative Nursery is a 501(c)3 civic nonprofit preschool for children in Ann Arbor and the surrounding area. The mission of Stone School Cooperative Nursery is to foster an environment allowing children to grow emotionally, mentally, physically and socially;

Passage of the attached resolution will allow the Stone School Cooperative Nursery to hold a raffle at the Bethlehem United Church of Christ, located at 211 Stone School Road, Suite 200, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Passage of this resolution is required in order to obtain final approval from the Charitable Gaming Division of the Bureau of State Lottery for this event and any future events.

Whereas, P.A. 382 of 1972, as amended, requires that local civic nonprofit organizations be recognized by resolution adopted by the local governmental subdivision in which the organization conducts its principal activities and that a copy of said resolution be filed with any application for a license to conduct a bingo, raffle or charity game(s);

Whereas, Stone School Cooperative Nursery has requested that it be recognized as a nonprofit organization operating in the community for the purpose of obtaining a charitable gaming license; and

Whereas, Stone School Cooperative Nursery is a local civic nonprofit organization as defined by P.A. 382 of 1972, as amended, which should be recognized for creating an environment allowing children to grow emotionally, mentally, physically and socially;
