Resolution Directing City Attorney to Investigate Nuisance Complaints at 920 Baldwin- Alpha Sigma Phi

Body

Whereas, The property at 920 Baldwin is owned and operated by the Alpha Sigma Phi Association;

 

Whereas, The tenants of 920 Baldwin are typically members of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity;

 

Whereas, Numerous complaints have been received by City of Ann Arbor officials of nuisance activity at 920 Baldwin;

 

Whereas, Laws and regulations exist for the purpose of ensuring public health, safety and welfare;

 

Whereas, Laws and regulations exist for the purpose of ensuring neighboring properties and their occupants are not subjected to nuisances that interfere with the reasonable enjoyment of peace and quiet of one's residence; and

 

Whereas, The City Attorney is capable of investigating and authorizing legal actions to remedy nuisance activity within the City of Ann Arbor;

 

RESOLVED, City Council directs the City Attorney with assistance from the City Administrator to investigate, report, and recommend options to address the complaints of nuisance activities at the Fraternity known as Alpha Sigma Phi located at 920 Baldwin; and

 

RESOLVED, The City Attorney shall submit said investigation to the City Council by the second Council meeting in January, 2016.
