Resolution Regarding Enforcement of Ordinances Requiring Removal of Snow and Ice from Sidewalks

Whereas, Ordinance amendments regarding requirements in Chapter 49 of the City Code for citizens to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their properties have been considered by City Council;
Whereas, Further information concerning enforcement statistics could assist City Council in debating whether ordinance amendments that become effective for the winter of 2015-2016 are appropriate;
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator shall report to City Council on or before May 1, 2016, on the status of enforcement actions for the winter of 2015-2016 under Sections 4:60 and 4:61 of Chapter 49, Sidewalks, of the Ann Arbor City Code, including but not limited to the number of notices issued, the number of citations issued, and the number of parcels where the City was required to removed snow/ice from a non-compliant owner/occupant’s parcel.
