Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order between City of Ann Arbor and On Duty Gear for the Purchase of Concealable Body Armor ($43,875.00)
Memorandum
The attached resolution seeks approval of a purchase order for the acquisition of concealable body armor in the amount of $43,875.00.
Funds for the purchase have been budgeted and approved in the FY16 Police budget.
Concealable body armor has a warranty and service life of 5 years from the date of manufacture. The Police Department seeks to replace 65 concealable body armor that are set to expire on December 1, 2015.
This purchase was bid under ITB-4398. On Duty Gear was the sole bidder and is able to meet all of the requirements listed in the bid.
Approval of the purchase is recommended.

Body
Whereas, The warranty and service life of the body armor currently worn by Ann Arbor Police Officers is due to expire (5 years from the date of manufacture) and purchase of replacement body armor is necessary;
Whereas, The Ann Arbor Police Department wishes to purchase new body armor that meet current standards and has been certified;
Whereas, The City issued ITB 4398 requesting bids for purchase of the concealable body armor and received one bid from On Duty Gear, which bid meets all requirements of the ITB; and
Whereas, 65 body armor needed will cost a total of $43,875.00
RESOLVED, That City Council approve a purchase order contract with On Duty Gear in the amount of $43,875.00 for the purchase of concealable body armor.
