Title
Washtenaw Housing Alliance and Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development: Washtenaw County Zero: 2016 Initiative
Memorandum
In January 2015, Washtenaw County joined more than 70 other communities across the country when it launched its participation in the Zero:2016 Initiative <http://cmtysolutions.org/zero2016>, a national movement led by Community Solutions to end veteran and chronic homelessness by the end of 2016.
Attached is a 2-page monthly data report, which shows progress for the first 6-months of this initiative, through June 30, 2015. 68 veterans and 53 chronically homeless individuals were permanently housed between January and June 2015. Congratulations to all of the service providers who have worked so hard to make this happen, and congratulations to the new residents of permanent housing.
Amanda Carlisle, Executive Director, Washtenaw Housing Alliance (WHA), and Andrea Plevek from the Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development will be providing City Council with a brief report under Introductions at the August 6 meeting.
