Title

Resolution to Amend and Approve the Operational Agreement for Information Technology Services between the City of Ann Arbor and City of Chelsea ($62,203.05)

Memorandum

During the summer of 2010, City of Chelsea requested City of Ann Arbor’s consideration of providing information technology services to the City of Chelsea.  Specifically, the City of Chelsea was looking for more effective management of their technology services.  By partnering with the City of Ann Arbor they would be able to have the access to the combined skill set of a larger IT organization without having to invest in an entire information technology services cost structure.

In response to Chelsea’s initial request, Ann Arbor has provided information technology services under Resolutions R-11-030, R-12-049, R-13-014, & R-14-0101.  Ann Arbor and Chelsea have determined that it continues to be in the best interest of both communities to provide information technology services through a shared resources and operational agreement.

The purpose of this operational agreement is for the City of Ann Arbor Information Technology department to continue to provide information technology services to the citizens, employees, and other customers of the City of Chelsea, enabling timely, cost effective, high quality delivery of services.

The City of Ann Arbor and Chelsea have further determined that it is the best interest of both communities for budgetary and operational planning to provide for renewal of this agreement on a recurring basis.

The scope of services to be delivered through the renewed operational agreement consists of providing basic IT services including, helpdesk, management of the City’s website, server hosting, data backup and recovery, overseeing IT contractors, project management, and representing the City of Chelsea in regional technology efforts, and meetings.

The City of Chelsea will reimburse the City of Ann Arbor up to $62,203.05 for all services provided under this Agreement.

The Chelsea City Council approved this agreement during their June 1, 2015 City Council meeting.
