Memorandum
The attached resolution requests authorization for a twelve month contract for services with Governmental Consultant Services, Inc. (GCSI) for $48,000.00 for fiscal year 2015.

Since 2001 GCSI has provided the City with legislative advocacy and assistance with the governor and state departments. GCSI has contributed to the City's efforts to increase state funding for fire protection, land-use planning, and parks and recreation projects. GCSI monitors issues currently pending before the legislature and advocates the city's specific interests.

GCSI's current contract for services expires on June 30, 2015. Funds for this contract are included in the FY 2015 City Administrator's budget. GCSI complies with the requirements of the Non-Discrimination and Living Wage ordinances.

Whereas, In 2001, City Council sought proposals for the provision of lobbying services for the City and awarded a one-year contract to Governmental Consultant Services, Inc. (GCSI) which under the terms of the contract provided for two six-month service periods;

Whereas, GCSI's current contract for services expires on June 30, 2015;

Whereas, GCSI has done an outstanding job since 2001 of communicating issues currently pending before the legislature;

Whereas, Funds for this contract are included in the Administrator's Office FY 2016 budget; and

Whereas, GCSI complies with the requirements of the Non-Discrimination and Lving Wage ordinances;

RESOLVED, That Council approve a 12-month contract with GCSI in the amount of $48,000.00 for fiscal year 2016 to perform lobbying services for the City;
