Resolution to Reaffirm Resolution R-165-6-65 of the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan which Extended an Invitation to the City of Tübingen, Germany, to Become a Sister-City

Whereas, Resolution R-165-6-65, Resolution of the Council of the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan Extending An Invitation to The City of Tübingen, Germany, to Become a Sister-City in the People-to-People Program and Inviting the People of Tübingen to Participate in Said Program was approved on June 1, 1965;
 
Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the City's sister-city relationship with Tübingen, Germany; and
 
Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor wishes to reaffirm resolution R-165-6-65 and continue the sister-city relationship;
 
RESOLVED, That City Council reaffirms the following:
 
      Section 1.  That this Council on behalf of the people of Ann Arbor hereby extends an invitation to the government and people of the City of Tübingen to participate with Ann Arbor as its Sister-City for the purpose of creating good will and understanding between the people of our two great nations.
 
      Section 2.  The Mayor is hereby authorized to act as official representative of Ann Arbor to carry out this program.
 
      Section 3.  That copies of this resolution are to be sent to the Mayor and Council of the City of Tübingen and the United States Department of State, and the Embassy of Germany.
