Resolution to Correct Street Name Discrepancy and Confirm Street Name to Be "Apple Way"
Memorandum
The attached resolution corrects a street name discrepancy in the Plat Book.
The street name is spelled "Appleway" on Page 27 of the Plat Book, but is spelled "Apple Way" on page 28. The original plat of the Hillwood Subdivision No. 4 spells the name as "Apple Way."
Budget/Fiscal Impact
The estimated costs for the manufacture and installation of new signage with the correct street name are $350.00. Signage replacement of this type is included in the Field Operations Local Street Fund Operation and Maintenance Budget.
The approval of this resolution will allow this discrepancy to be corrected, and for the changing of the street sign from "Appleway" to "Apple Way" to be consistent with the original plat.

Whereas, The Plat Book includes the official spelling of each street in the City of Ann Arbor;
Whereas, The Plat Book contains inconsistent spellings of "Appleway" and "Apple Way";
Whereas, Funding for the signage change is available in the FY 15 Field Operations Local Street Fund Operation and Maintenance budget; and
Whereas, The original plat of the Hillwood Subdivision No. 4 spells the name as "Apple Way" and no official action has changed that street name;
RESOLVED, That City Council confirm that the official street name is "Apple Way"; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator be authorized to take the necessary administrative actions to implement this resolution.
