Resolution Supporting Homeless Camps in the City of Ann Arbor
Memorandum
I offer the "Resolution Supporting Homeless Camps in the City of Ann Arbor" for your consideration. It is minimal in detail in order to allow supporters of homeless camps to provide amendments that clarify their position. Please note I do not support homeless camps in any form. This position was described in a document I released to the press on January 14, 2015.
Attached documents include the e-mail notification from a Ward 3 resident about the illegal homeless camp on Burton Road established by supporters of homeless camps that was sent to the Mayor and myself, and the police records of Aaron Grace, a violent homeless man originally from Ohio, whose last known address was "Camp off of Burton Road." Note that Aaron Grace was trespassed (also known as "evicted") from the private homes at 3501 Stone School Road and 805 W. Huron by the residents who advertise the homes as available for homeless services.
