Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the Ann Arbor Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 27, 2014 from 4:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

The Sponsor, Good Boy Events, is an event company based in Southeast Michigan and has donated to various charity organizations over the past nine years. Partial proceeds from this event will go towards animal shelters around the Great Lakes State, local high school sports teams, local church groups and food banks. Good Boy has hosted Ann Arbor Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day for the last eight years with last year's registration exceeding 2,000 runners.

The actual event will begin at 8:30 A.M. and end at 9:45 A.M with the additional time to be used for setup and breakdown. Setup will begin at approximately 4:30 A.M. in the private parking lot at 339 Liberty, and cleanup will be completed by 12:00 P.M. Music and announcements over loudspeakers will begin at 7:30 A.M. at Liberty Plaza. All streets will be reopened as soon as safely possible after the last runners and participants have cleared the affected areas. Full lane closures will take place at:

* S. Fifth from Liberty to Washington
* Washington from S. Fifth to Main
* Main from Washington to Keech
* Keech from Main to Greene
* Greene from Keech to Hill
* Hoover from Main to Division
* Division from Hoover to Hill
* Hill from Division to Greene

Music will be played from 8:30 A.M. until 9:15 A.M. and racers will be cheered at the aid station south of Hoover and Greenee near Keech with a 20' blow-up and snow machine.

The Sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets, and will reimburse the city for all ev...
