Memorandum
Approval of this resolution will allow for the construction of a 19,780 square foot gymnasium and classroom addition to the existing private high school.

Petition Summary:

* Special Exception Use for a gymnasium and classroom addition to the existing private high school use.

* The Site Plan proposes a single story, 29.5 foot tall, 19,780 square foot addition. The new addition will consist of a 9,990 square foot gymnasium and a 9,790 square feet of classroom and storage space.

* The Planning Commission approved a special exception use approval for the building expansion at its meeting of June 3, 2014. The Commission also reconfirmed the maximum student enrollment of 120 students.

The City Planning Commission, at its meeting of June 3, 2014, recommended approval of the site plan request.

Whereas, Rudolf Steiner High School has requested site plan approval to construct a gymnasium and classroom addition to the existing private high school;

Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Planning Commission, on June 3, 2014, approved a Special Exception Use for the proposed building expansion and reconfirmed the maximum student enrollment of 120 students;

Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Planning Commission on June 3, 2014 recommended approval of the site plan petition;

Whereas, with the special exception use approval, the development would comply with the R1D zoning established pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 55, and with all applicable local, state, or federal laws, ordinances, standards and regulations;
