Memorandum
This ordinance will zone this property PL (Public Land District), now that ownership of the property has been officially transferred to the City of Ann Arbor.  The parcel was originally part of the 21.48 acre Traverwood Apartment site at 2225 Traverwood Drive. The parcel was divided off and donated to the City, to be added to the adjacent Stapp Nature Area. City Council accepted this donation in December 2013.

The PL zoning is consistent with the proposed parkland use.  The City Planning Commission, at its meeting of February 20, 2014, recommended approval of the request.
