Resolution Authorizing the Payment of Sewer Connection Fees to Scio Township ($46,806.67)

Attached for your approval is a resolution to authorize the payment of $46,806.67 for the sewer connection fees for the property located at 3480 Jackson Ave.
Connection of this parcel lying within the City of Ann Arbor to Scio Township's sanitary system is a form of intergovernmental cooperation that allows service of a parcel without providing duplicate infrastructure. The costs of the connection charge is significantly less than the cost of construction infrastructure which would serve only this parcel.

Whereas, The property located within the City of Ann Arbor at 2480 Jackson Ave., has a need for a sanitary sewer connection;
Whereas, Scio Township had existing sanitary sewer infrastructure in place to serve the parcel;
Whereas, The cost for the connection to the Scio Township system based on square footage is $46,806.67; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator be authorized to approve the payment of $46,806.67 to Scio Township for sanitary system sewer connection fees.
