Resolution to Approve First Amendment to Contract with Plante Moran, PLLC for Review of Permitting Processes ($17,000.00)
Memorandum
The City Administration contracted with Plante Moran to conduct an audit of the City's permitting processes initially at a cost of $23,000.00.  The original estimate of time has turned out to be insufficient; additional hours are required to perform the audit.  The additional hours will require an additional cost of up to $17,000.00, increasing the total contract amount up to $40,000.00.
 
Approval of the amendment is recommended.

Whereas, The City desires to audit its permitting processes for building and rental housing permits;
 
Whereas, Plante Moran, PLLC was selected as the firm that best met the City's needs based on its qualified staff and available resources;
 
Whereas, The original contract with Plante Moran, PLLC, was for $23,000.00;
 
Whereas, Additional hours are required to perform the audit resulting in an additional cost of up to $17,000.00 for a total contract amount of $40,000.00; and
 
Whereas, Funding is available within the existing FY2014 budget;
 
RESOLVED, City Council approve First Amendment to the contract with Plante Moran, PLLC in the amount of $17,000.00 for a total contract amount not to exceed $40,000.00 for audit of the City's permitting processes; and
 
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute the amendment after approval as to substance by the City Administrator and approval as to form by the City Attorney.
