Attached for your consideration is a resolution to close additional streets for the Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K on Monday, August 12, 2013
Subsequent to Council approving street closures on June 3, 2013 associated with the 2013 UA Block Party, the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, has requested the following additional street closing for the Plumbers & Pipefitters 5K run on August 12, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Fourth Avenue construction will be concluded prior to this event. Additionally, there is no other scheduled construction in the area at this time.
The UA Block Party and the Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K closes the following:
· S. Main Street between William and Huron Streets (3:30-11:00 PM)
· Liberty and Washington Streets between Ashley Street and S. Fourth Avenue (3:30-11:00 PM)
· Extend Liberty closure from Main Street to State (6:00-8:00 PM for following streets, opening up as the race ends)
· State Street between North University and Washington
· North University - Northern/west bound lanes
· (Fletcher to remain open. Runners directed to sidewalks.)
· Washington - Southern/east bound lanes
Notification of the street closings related to this event will be provided through the City's website.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the sponsor to close additional streets for the UA Block Party/Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K on Monday, August 12, 2013;
Whereas, The closing of additional streets will allow for the running of the Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K;
Whereas, The additional street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised; and
Whereas, Notification of the street closings related to this event will be provided through the City's website;
RESOLVED, That City Council approves the closing of the following streets from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 12, 2013:
· Extend Liberty closure from Main Street to State
· State Street between North University and Washington
· North University - Northern/west bound lanes
· (Fletcher to remain open. Runners directed to sidewalks.)
· Washington - Southern/east bound lanes
