Resolution to Approve Street Closings for the Electric Bolt 8K Run/Walk July 28, 2013
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of the following streets from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 to hold the Electric Bolt 8K Run/Walk:
· Wall Street between Canal and Maiden Lane Court
· Canal Street between Wall and Maiden Lane Court
· Longshore Drive from Barton Drive to the Argo Park Entrance
· Argo Drive at Longshore Drive
· Indianola at Longshore Drive
· Amherst at Longshore Drive
· East Summit from Broadway to North Fifth Avenue
· North Fifth Avenue from Depot to the South Boundary of Wheeler Park
This event, sponsored by the Ann Arbor Track Club and Ann Arbor Active Against ALS (A2A3), is fundraising for research toward a cure for Lou Gehrig's Disease.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the Ann Arbor Track Club and A2A3 to facilitate the Electric Bolt 8K Run/Walk on July 28, 2013 to close streets for this special event;
Whereas, The street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised by marshals and police officers;
Whereas, The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses; and
Whereas, Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website.
RESOLVED, That Council approve the closing of the following streets from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, July 28, 2013:
· Wall and Canal Streets at Maiden Lane Court
· Longshore Drive to the Argo Park Entrance
· Longshore Drive at Argo Drive
· Longshore Drive at Indianola
· Longshore Drive at Amherst
· East Summit from Broadway to North Fifth Avenue
· North Fifth Avenue from Depot to the South Boundary of Wheeler Park
