Memorandum
The attached resolution requests authorization for a twelve month contract for services with Governmental Consultant Services, Inc. (GCSI) for $48,000.00 for fiscal year 2014.

Since 2001 GCSI has provided the City with legislative advocacy and assistance with state departments. GCSI's service of Ann Arbor issues, needs, and projects with the governor, legislature, and state departments has contributed to increased state funding for fire protection, land-use planning, and parks and recreation projects.  GCSI monitors issues currently pending before the legislature and advocates the city's specific interests.

GCSI's current contract for services expires on June 30, 2013. Funds for this contract are included in the FY 2014 City Administrator's budget.  GCSI received Human Rights approval on June 4, 2013 and Living Wage approval on April 18, 2013
