Memorandum
Resolution to accept the alley off of Beakes and the alley off of Cambridge, to dedicate them as Public Streets in the Act 51 Street System and to name them Beakes Court and Camber Court, respectively. This action will add Beakes Court and Camber Court to the Act 51 Street System.

In order to receive Act 51 funding (gas tax funds that are collected by the state and then redistributed to respective municipalities, based on a set formula, for the sole use of maintenance and repair of major and local streets), it is crucial that the City Street Administrator (Homayoon Pirooz) maintain up-to-date, accurate Street System Maps. To amend an Act 51 Street System Map, the state requires that administrators submit specific, detailed information and forms. One of the requisite amendment documents, is a resolution, adopted by the municipal governing body, outlining and approving the requested changes/amendments.

Beakes Court and Camber Court are either new streets or have been extended since the last Act 51 Street System update.

Legal descriptions of the 2 street sections, covered in this memorandum, are attached.

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor did prior to December 31, 2011, acquire title to the alley off of Beakes and the alley off of Cambridge; and

Whereas, It is necessary to furnish certain information to the State of Michigan to place these streets within the City Street System for the purpose of obtaining funds under Act 51, P.A. 1951 as amended;
