Memorandum
AAPAC requests your approval of a professional services agreement with Ed Carpenter, in the amount of $150,000.00, to design, fabricate and install public art for the Ann Arbor Justice Center. Ed Carpenter was selected as a result of his submission to a Request for Proposal. Funding to complete the project will come from Funds previously appropriated for public art within the Justice Center project budget. The art installation is intended for the southwest corner of the Justice Center lobby and will be suspended from the ceiling section designed for that purpose.
A Selection Panel reviewed artist qualifications and art proposals. The panel chose Ed Carpenter’s art proposal as their recommendation for the public art project. A copy of his proposal is attached.
The Ann Arbor Public Art Commission approved the Selection Panel recommendation, and the artist, Ed Carpenter, on January 25, 2012.
