Resolution to Approve a Domestic Violence Probation and Data Entry Services Contract with the 14A Judicial District Court ($77,202.00)
Memorandum
This resolution seeks approval for a Domestic Violence Prevention Grant Services
contract between the 14A Judicial District Court and the City of Ann Arbor on behalf of
the 15th Judicial District Court, subject to the availability of funding through the Office on
Violence Against Women of the Department of Justice Grant Award 2011-WE-AX-0033
awarded to the 15th Judicial District Court and accepted on behalf of the Court by
Council.
This Contract requires the 14A Judicial District Court to provide domestic violence
probation services to 14A Judicial District Court defendants and to provide domestic
violence data entry services for those cases in a total amount of $77,202 or, in the event
the grant amount is amended by the Department of Justice, in an amount not to exceed
the amended grant amount. In no case will the amount payable to the 14A Judicial
District Court exceed the amount of the federal grant.

Whereas, The 15th Judicial District Court has been awarded and Council has accepted an Office on Violence Against Women of the Department of Justice Grant for the period of October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2013 or as may be extended by the U.S. Department of Justice;
Whereas, The grant award includes funds to compensate the 14A Judicial District Court for domestic violence probation and data entry services; and
Whereas, It is in the best interests of the City to enhance domestic violence prevention by obtaining the services recited in this resolution;
