Resolution to Approve Purchase Order to AVI Systems, Inc. for Upgraded Audio and Video Storage Equipment for Community Television Network (ITB-4195) ($49,425.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution authorizing a purchase order to AVI Systems, Inc. in the amount of $49,425.00 for purchase and installation of upgraded audio and video storage equipment for Community Television Network (CTN). Funding for this purchase is included in the Production Equipment Fund in the approved FY2012 budget.

CTN will use this equipment to expand the multi-channel audio and video productions and associated cable television and internet production content and allow CTN to better serve the City of Ann Arbor and the community at large with quality programming of high value to the City of Ann Arbor residents.

ITB-4195 was distributed on the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network and received three (3) bids. Bids were requested for both 16 Gigabyte and 32 Gigabyte storage system options. The decision was made to go forward with the 32 Gigabyte device option because the added storage space will be required in the near future. The bid tabulation is attached. Following are the bid amounts for the 32 Gigabyte option:

Thalner Electronics $37,989.00*
Midwest Media Group $54,920.00 (includes manufacturer’s discount of $4,250.00)
AVI Systems, Inc. $49,425.00 (after manufacturer’s discount of $4,250.00)

*The bid from Thalner Electronics was disqualified because it proposed equipment that was not the equipment specified in ITB-4195.

The manufacturer’s discount of $$4,250.00 on the specified equipment was available for all bidders. Taking into account the manufacturer’s discount, the bid from AVI Systems, Inc., and Midwest Media Group were $49,425.00 and $54,920.00 respectively. After CTN and the IT Service Unit reviewed the two proposals, AVI Systems, Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive bidder.

AVI System, Inc. received Human Rights...
