Memorandum
This resolution seeks Council approval for a service contract with the Washtenaw Community Health Organization for mental health services to 15th Judicial District Court defendants who are participants in the Court’s Sobriety Court program. These services are funded by a grant from the Supreme Court of Michigan State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) and Mental Health Services for Drug Court Participants (MHDCP) Grant Program for Grant Fiscal Year 2011 and any subsequent Grant Years thereafter.
At the discretion of the City’s Financial & Administrative Services Administrator, the Court will establish a separate grant account with the City Finance Services Area and will take all other necessary steps to assure the effective administration of this grant.

Whereas, The Michigan Supreme Court State Court Administrative Office has awarded grant funds to the 15th Judicial District Court for mental health services to 15th Judicial District Court defendants who are participants in the Court’s Sobriety Court program;
Whereas, The 15th Judicial District Court has determined that the Washtenaw Community Health Organization is an appropriate and skilled provider of such services; and
Whereas, It is in the best interests of the City of Ann Arbor and in the best interests of justice to enter into a service contract with Washtenaw Community Health Organization;
