Resolution to Re-Appoint Members to the Greenbelt Advisory Commission
Memorandum
The Open Space and Parkland Preservation Ordinance, Chapter 42 of the City Code, stipulates that the Greenbelt Advisory Commission shall consist of: two (2) members to serve as representatives of environmental and/or conservation groups, one (1) member who is an agricultural landowner or operates an agricultural business, one (1) member who is a real estate development professional, one (1) member who is a plant or animal biologist, three (3) members from the public-at-large, one (1) member of Ann Arbor City Council.
At the end of April, Peter Allen’s term on the Greenbelt Advisory Commission is expiring. He has served on the Greenbelt Advisory Commission since April 2008 and is eligible for re-appointment of another term. Peter Allen serves as the real estate development professional representative on the Greenbelt Advisory Commission.
In June 2010, three additional terms are expiring on the Greenbelt Advisory Commission:
· Laura Rubin, who serves as one of the environmental organization representatives
· Tom Bloomer, who is the agriculture landowner representative
· Dan Ezekiel who serves as one of the public-at-large representatives
All Commissioners are eligible for re-appointment.

Whereas, City Council passed an ordinance creating a Greenbelt Advisory Commission;
Whereas, The ordinance requires City Council to nominate and appoint the members of the Commission; and
Whereas, Peter Allen has served as the real estate development professional representative for the past two years;
Whereas, Laura Rubin has served as an environmental organization representative for six years;
Whereas, Tom Bloomer has served as the agriculture landowner representative for the past years;
Whereas, Dan Ezekiel has served as one of the public-at-large representatives for the past six years;
