Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the summary publication of amendments to Chapter 103 of Title VIII of the City Code.  The City Charter contains provisions to allow summary publications of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length.  The purpose of this resolution is to lessen the City's cost resulting from the required publication of the ordinance revisions.

Whereas, Section 7.4 of the City Charter authorizes the publication by summary of ordinances over 500 words in length;
 
RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance ORD-08-14 shall be by the following summary:
 
Ordinance ORD-08-14 amends Chapter 103 (Historic Preservation) of Title VIII of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor by adding Section 8:425.14 to establish the Broadway Historic District, which generally includes Broadway, Jones, Moore, Traver, and Cedar Bend Streets.  The exact boundaries are defined by the legal description in the Ordinance and are on a map included with the Proposed Broadway Historic District Final Study Committee Report available at Planning and Development Services, 6th Floor, Guy C. Larcom Jr. Building (City Hall).
