Resolution Directing City Council and the Mayor to Appoint a Committee to Study the Available Options for Use of the Proceeds from Sale of Downtown City Properties Located in the DDA District Boundaries

Whereas, The citizens of Ann Arbor have purchased and used the properties located in the DDA district of the downtown:
Whereas, These properties are a major City asset;
Whereas, The citizens thereby have a right by this ownership to a transparent process to gather citizen preferences for use of the City land in the DDA district, including whether to sell or lease the land to the private sector; and
Whereas, The fiscal future of the City is of great concern and interest to all taxpayers in Ann Arbor;
RESOLVED, That the Mayor, with the direction of City Councilmembers, appoint a committee to address this important issue; and
RESOLVED, That this committee should be composed of ten residents: two from each ward and that each Councilmember will select one person to serve on this important Committee and in addition, this committee shall include the City Administrator, Director of the DDA, Planning Manager, Chief Financial Officer of the City and Chief Financial Officer of the DDA.
