Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order to Corrigan Moving Systems, Inc. for Relocation Services for the 15th Judicial District Court ($35,000.00)
Memorandum
This resolution seeks Council approval to issue a purchase order in an amount not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00) to Corrigan Moving Systems, Inc. for relocation services to remove, secure, relocate and place 15th Judicial District Court files, furnishings and equipment from the Washtenaw County Courthouse and 206 Huron St. to the Ann Arbor Municipal Center.
Corrigan Moving Systems, Inc. is a State of Michigan guaranteed minimum cost program participant, has previously provided these types of services to the Court and is a pre-approved Washtenaw County vendor with Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Court Security clearance.
The Court has budgeted appropriate funds for this expense.
Corrigan Moving Systems, Inc. received Living Wage and Contract Compliance approval on September 3, 2010.

Whereas, The 15th Judicial District Court will relocate from the Washtenaw County Courthouse to the Ann Arbor Municipal Center;
Whereas, Relocating the Court to the Ann Arbor Municipal Center will require the disassembly, orderly relocation and re-assembly of the Court’s substantial furnishing and equipment inventory;
Whereas, Relocating the Court will also require the orderly extraction and secure interim storage of thousands of Court records from the Washtenaw County Courthouse and the orderly replacement of those records in the Ann Arbor Municipal Center;
Whereas, Corrigan Moving Systems, Inc. is a State of Michigan guaranteed minimum cost program participant; and
Whereas, Corrigan Moving Systems, Inc. has provided similar services to the Court in the past and is familiar with Court operations, general security and file security requirements;
