Resolution to Approve a Professional Services Agreement for Construction Materials Testing with Professional Services Industries, Inc. for the Pontiac Trail Improvements Project (RFP No. 884, $46,879.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to authorize a Professional Services Agreement with Professional Services Industries, Inc. (PSI) for construction materials testing services in the amount of $46,879.00 for the Pontiac Trail Improvements Project.

The project includes the reconstruction of Pontiac Trail beginning just north of Skydale Drive to just south of the bridge over M14/US23. In addition to the street reconstruction, the project also includes extending water main north from Dhu Varren Road to just south of the bridge over M14/US23, extending sanitary sewer north from Skydale Drive to just south of the bridge over M14/US23, construction of new sidewalk along the east side of Pontiac Trail, and installation of bike lanes. The project will also include stormwater infiltration trenches, edge drains and the addition of a small section of curb and gutter.

Eight firms submitted proposals for the required construction materials testing services. Project Management staff evaluated the proposals and selected PSI for this project based on their proposal, staff qualifications, past involvement with similar projects, and cost. PSI has Human Rights and Living Wage approval.

Services to be performed include all the required testing for soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete. Funds for the requested services are available in the project budget for the Pontiac Trail Improvements Project.
