Energy Challenge Awards Program (ECAP)
Memorandum
Over the past year, city staff and members of the Energy Commission have been developing an awards program for outstanding energy use in Ann Arbor buildings, as directed by City Council in R-328-7-06 on July 17, 2006. This program will recognize business leaders in our community in two areas of energy use: Renewable Energy (production) and Energy Efficiency (reduction).
Modeled after similar award programs from around the country, the Energy Challenge Awards will be an incentive for community businesses to contribute to meeting the goals established in the Mayor's Green Energy Challenge. The program will be administered through the Energy Office with support from the Energy Commission.
The first Energy Challenge Awards will be issued in March 2008 for projects completed between 2005-2007.
