Title
Resolution to Approve a Contract with P.K. Contracting (Bid No. ITB 4235 - $135,000.00) for Annual Maintenance Pavement Markings
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution that authorizes a one-year contract in the amount of $135,000.00 with P.K. Contracting for annual maintenance pavement markings throughout the City. The resolution also authorizes an option to extend the contract with P.K. Contracting for two additional one-year periods for a total of $405,000.00 with the same terms and conditions subject to the annual appropriation of funds in FY14 and FY15.

The contract is a unit price contract for pavement marking maintenance throughout the City. The contract amount is based on available funds and needed replacements.

Requests for bids were posted online and a bid was received from one contractor. After evaluating the bids, staff determined that the prices were competitive and recommends P.K. Contracting to be awarded the contract. The bid tabulation is attached. Funding for this work is available in the Approved FY13 Public Services Area, Major and Local Street Funds Operation and Maintenance Budget.

P.K. Contracting received Human Rights approval on December 14, 2011, and Living Wage approval on April 23, 2012.
