Memorandum

The attached resolution is contingent upon Council approval of Ordinance 24-02 at second reading on February 20, 2024. The City Charter allows summary publication of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length upon approval by City Council. Summary publication is appropriate due to the cost of publication and length of the ordinance. The ordinance will also be available publicly online.

RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance 24-02 shall be made by the following summary: 

 

Ordinance 24-02 revises the applicability of conflicting land use buffers and reorganizes landscaping, screening and buffering requirements in Section 5.20 of the Unified Development Code. Section 5.20.4 is amended to require buffers only between conflicting zoning districts or developments adjacent to public parks. Section 5.20.3 is amended to include screening requirements for vehicular use areas formerly provided in Section 5.20.4, and Section 5.20.6 is amended to include screening requirements for refuse/recycling containers also formerly provided in Section 5.20.4.   

 

The effective date of Ordinance 24-02 is 10 days after publication. A complete text of this ordinance is available for inspection at the City Clerk’s office on the second floor of the Guy C. Larcom Municipal Building, 301 East Huron Street, Ann Arbor or at www.a2gov.org <http://www.a2gov.org>.
