Resolution Congratulating and Honoring Congressman John D. Dingell

Whereas, Congressman John D. Dingell has served the people of southeast Michigan with honor and distinction as a Member of the United States House of Representatives since December 1955;
Whereas, Congressman Dingell has played an instrumental role in developing important legislation that has benefited all Americans, including the Clean Air Act of 1990 and the Children's Health Insurance Program;
Whereas, Congressman Dingell has delivered unmatched constituent service on behalf of his constituents, including the people of the City of Ann Arbor; and
Whereas, On February 11, 2009, Congressman Dingell became the longest serving Member of the United States House of Representatives in the history of the United States;
RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor City Council honors and congratulates Congressman John D. Dingell on being the longest serving member of the United States House of Representatives in the history of the United States; and
RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor City Council looks forward to continuing to work with Congressman Dingell on behalf of the people of the City of Ann Arbor.
