Memorandum
Approval of this ordinance will amend the PUD (Planned Unit Development) zoning for this property approved in 2008. The revised PUD will allow two four-story hotels, consisting of 227 rooms and 227 parking spaces. The hotels will be constructed in two phases. The revision includes the elimination of 25 off-street parking spaces from the previously approved site plan and a reduction of 4,428 square feet of floor area. Included with the PUD ordinance are amended supplemental regulations, which have been reviewed and found acceptable by the Attorney’s Office.
The City Planning Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting of August 18, 2009, subject to providing adequate sanitary sewer capacity and contributing to the cost of mitigating traffic issues. Both of these conditions have been included in the development agreement, which will be considered at the PUD site plan approval stage.
