Resolution to Amend the Old Fourth Ward Parking District

Whereas, The Old Fourth Ward Association worked with their Councilmembers to create a Residential Parking Permit District which was establish by resolution R-10-214 on June 21, 2010;
Whereas, During establishment of the Old Fourth Ward Parking District the unique residential character of the areas was recognized;
Whereas, Due to the nature of the area, with the University and business districts in close proximity, residential living units exist within structures which are multiuse and therefore, residents live on blockfaces that are not eligible for inclusion in a residential parking district;
Whereas, The intent of the Old Fourth Ward Association in requesting establishment of said Residential Parking District was to enable residents within the area of designated parking district area to obtain parking permits;
Whereas, Three properties on the 300 block of N. Ingalls house residential living units;
Whereas, The 300 block of N. Ingalls is wholly within the Old Fourth Ward Parking District; and
Whereas, The Old Fourth Ward Association at their meeting on August 6, 2011 took action in support of extending the privilege of permit eligibility to these properties that are not on block faces designated in the Old Fourth Ward Parking District;
RESOLVED, That City Council waive the provision of Criterion number five (5) for Residential Parking that requires each applicant to live in the residential parking permit area within the Old Fourth Ward Parking District specifically for 309, 311 and 321 N. Ingalls which contain residential living units; and
RESOLVED, That City Council grant to residents living at the aforementioned addresses in the 300 block of N. Ingalls the same rights and privileges as eligible households in the Old Fourth Ward Parking District.
