Title
Resolution to Approve Schedule 37 to the Interagency Agreement for Collaborative Technology and Services for a Merit Networks Shared Internet Connection with Washtenaw County and the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) ($38,964 over a 3-year period)
Memorandum
Attached for your review is a resolution authorizing the approval of Schedule 37. This schedule replaces Schedule 30 and will be effective August 1, 2020. Due to Covid-19 and the number of employees working remotely, the City of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, and the AAATA are experiencing an increase in internet usage which is exceeding our available internet capacity under Schedule 30. Schedule 37 is a 3-year commitment to provide equally shared internet access for the City of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, and the AAATA at the increased rate for additional internet capacity.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: The City's portion of the internet connection will be planned and budgeted for in the FY22 - FY23 Information Technology Services Budget.
This agreement allows for collaboration and cost sharing and eliminates the need for individual internet connections. The previous internet access rate under Schedule 30 was 500Mbps and the new access rate is 1 Gbps. The city's previous annual payment for the 500 Mbps access rate was $6,780.00 and the new rate the city will be invoiced is as follows:
FY 2021: $13,043.33
FY 2022: $12,906.00
FY 2023: $12,960.00
