Title
Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order to AmeriNet for 3-Year Network Equipment Maintenance and Support Agreement FY2013-FY2015 ($137,756.73)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution authorizing the creation of a purchase order to AmeriNet in the amount of $137,756.73 for 3 years of maintenance and support of the City’s Extreme Networks’ network switches for FY2013- FY2015.
Over 100 Extreme Networks’ network switches are used throughout the City to support the City’s voice and data infrastructure. AmeriNet was awarded ITB-4112, issued in July 2010, for the purchase and annual maintenance of the Extreme Networks’ network switches. Shortly after that, AmeriNet was named a Platinum Partner with Extreme and as such offers the deepest discounts.
Amerinet continues to be the best source for provision of maintenance and support to the City. Amerinet is the preferred supplier of Extreme Network Equipment and is provided discounted pricing by Extreme Networks directly and provides discounted pricing via REMC Cooperative.
Executing a new 3-year Extreme Networks’ maintenance and support agreement, in lieu of separate 1-year agreements, saves the City $16,803.33, or 11%, over a 3-year timeframe. This 3-year agreement can be funded through available funds in the FY2013 IT Fund. It is imperative to maintain this agreement with AmeriNet to receive Extreme Network maintenance and support to minimize downtime for the City’s voice and data infrastructure.
AmeriNet received Human Rights and Living Wage compliance approval on April 23, 2012.
