Resolution to Approve Fiscal Year 2010 Additional Loading Zone Fees

Attached for your consideration and approval is a resolution approving new fees for the Commercial Loading Zone program. These fees will supplement the previously-approved permit fees.
As part of the FY 2010 budget approval, the Commercial Loading Zone Permit Program was approved. As part of the approval process, program plans were shared with City Council, the Public and with Staff. During this process, additional permit purchase options were identified.
At the time of budget adoption, there were only two options available for permit purchase. As a result of the public process, these new fees are being established and are being added to the previously-approved fee schedule.

Customer Service will begin the permit sales January 5, 2010, and enforcement of the permit program will begin on February 1, 2010. A communication program has been outline that includes program details on the City’s web-page, letters to business owners and distributors, and direct communication to the University of Michigan and the Downtown Merchant Associations.

Whereas, The City is implementing a commercial loading zone permit program;
Whereas, City Council has previously approved Commercial Loading Zone Permit Fees; and
