Resolution to Schedule a Public Hearing on the Reimagine Washtenaw Corridor Improvement Study and to Postpone a Vote on the Resolution of Support for the Study until after the Hearing

Whereas, A resolution of support for the Reimagine Washtenaw Corridor Improvement Study was considered at the City Council meeting of February 17, 2015;
Whereas, Many questions about the study were raised at that meeting, and a vote on the resolution was postponed until the meeting of April 20;
Whereas, In the interim, many residents and business representatives have raised further questions about the study;
Whereas, The Summary Report of the study occupies approximately 240-pages and contemplates major changes to Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor that will have widespread ramifications for residents, commuters from other jurisdictions, and businesses;
Whereas, Only a few dozen Ann Arbor citizens attended the forums conducted several years ago on the proposed plan;
Whereas, City Council wishes to allow those affected to have a chance to express their views on the plan directly to the Council;
RESOLVED, The City Council hereby schedules a public hearing on the Reimagine Corridor Improvement Study to be held during the City Council's regular meeting of May 4, 2015 and postpones consideration of the proposed resolution of support until after the hearing has been held.
