Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order to Washtenaw County for City’s FY2010 Portion of Shared Technology Services ($102,130.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution to approve a Purchase Order with Washtenaw County for the City of Ann Arbor’s FY2010 portion of shared technology services including storage area network access, enterprise content management hardware and software maintenance, and internet connection services. By sharing the costs for these common technologies, the City and County are collectively lowering the taxpayer costs for technology.
The OnBase enterprise content management hardware and software provides services for searching and locating documents, integrating electronic documents into workflows, including electronic signatures, and managing the electronic document lifecycle from creation to destruction. The OnBase support costs, split evenly between the City and Washtenaw County, cover hardware and software maintenance and replacement costs on the enterprise portion of the enterprise content management system both organization use.
The shared EMC storage area network provides the City with access to a common storage platform that allows further City/County technology collaboration and consolidations, access to a robust backup and recovery infrastructure and generally lowers the City’s Total Cost of Ownership for this type of platform.
The shared Merit internet connection optimizes the costs associated with providing internet connectivity by leveraging common hardware, network infrastructure and services.
The City’s portion of shared technology costs are broken down as follows:
Merit Internet Connection - $27,130.00
EMC Storage Area Network Access - $50,000.00
OnBase Hardware and Software Maintenance - $25,000.00
