Resolution to Approve Street Closings for the UA Block Party - Monday, August 12, 2013
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of the following streets from 3:30 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 2013 to stage the UA Block Party (AAACVB Plumbers & Pipe Fitters):
• S. Main Street between William and Huron Streets
• Liberty and Washington Streets between Ashley Street and S. Fourth Avenue
This event, sponsored by the Main Street Area Association, is intended to attract people to the downtown area to enjoy the festivities.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the Main Street Area Association to close the following streets from 3:30 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 2013 to facilitate the staging of the UA Block Party (AAACVB Plumbers & Pipe Fitters);
• S. Main Street between William and Huron Streets
• Liberty and Washington Streets between Ashley Street and S. Fourth Avenue
Whereas, The street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised by the Fire and Police Departments;
Whereas, Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website.
RESOLVED, That Council approve the closing of the following streets from 3:30 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 2013:
• S. Main Street between William and Huron Streets
• Liberty and Washington Streets between Ashley Street and S. Fourth Avenue.
