Title
Resolution to Approve Contract with Jackson Automatic Sprinkler for $1,056,700 for a Fire Suppression System at Miller Manor
Memorandum
The AAHC hired IMEG Corporation, to design, assist with the procurement and oversee installation of a fire suppression system for Miller Manor, Baker Commons. Because Miller Manor had recently suffered a serious fire, and the suppression design was different from Baker Commons and Lurie Terrace, we issued a Request for Proposal (RFP AAHC 2022-01) for Miller Manor as a stand-alone project and will issue a separate RFP for Baker and Lurie.
The AAHC posted the RFP through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN/BidNet) and received 2 bids, Jackson Automatic Sprinkler both scored higher in the review process and provided a lower bid than Wolverine Fire Protection Company.
Staff recommend that the board approve the bid and contract with Jackson Automatic Sprinkler for $1,056,700.
The AAHC will contract with Jackson Automatic Sprinkler through the AAHDC, its development non-profit because the project will be paid for with Millage Funds allocated to the AAHDC from the City.
