Resolution Appointing Sandwich Sign Board Task Force Members

Whereas, On October 5, 2009, City Council authorized the creation of a Task Force to review existing City policies associated with sandwich sign boards placed in the public right of way, frame recommendations for more effective placement and sign regulations, and development of more appropriate fees;
Whereas, The Sandwich Sign Board Task Force is to be comprised of 8 members, including 2 Downtown Merchant Association Representatives, 1 member of the DDA, 1 member of the general public, 1 member of Council, and 3 members of City staff;
Whereas, City staff serving on the Task Force are to assist the other Task Force members in completing their work; and
Whereas, The Task Force is to bring forward recommendations to City Council by December 7, 2009;
RESOLVED, That City Council appoint the following individuals to the Sandwich Sign Board Task Force, with terms that expire in December 2009:
Maura Thompson, MSAA, Downtown Merchant Association Representative
Maggie Ladd, SUAA, Downtown Merchant Assocation Representative
Joan Lowenstein, Member of the DDA
Vicki Honeyman, Member of the general public
Alex Milshteyn, Member of Sign Board of Appeals
Linda Briggs, Member of the Commission on Disabilities
Sabra Briere, City Council member
Kristen Larcom, Attorney, City Attorney's Office staff representative
Chris Cheng, Planner, Planning and Development Services staff representative
Mike Rankin, Commmunity Standards Officer, Police Services staff representative;
RESOLVED, That Council appoint Sabra Briere as Task Force Chair.
